WHAT WAIBI SABERMETRICS SYSTEM IS?

BASEBALL WAIBI SABERMETRICS SYSTEM: An Statistical Re-evolution

Waibi Sabermetric System is a new platform for Baseball statistical interpretation, which achieved to clarify deeply the current data management method. Even though is based on the traditional statistical system, Waibi used some fundamental concepts, never before applied in Baseball (such as the Chess ELO system, among others). Its probably, the only stats system based totally in the “Play By Play”, and for the first time, evaluates the player performance, considering the Quality and Player Fitness Momentum of him and his opponents, and the specific  situational difficulties of each appearance.
Unlike the traditional stats system, Waibi don’t persue to count actions, but describe their retail numerically, among others news player performance data. Therefore  Waibi Sabermetric System has three levels to estimate a player:

  1. Player Performance (or historical): These are the traditional statistics, which principal aim is to narrate the game, and to record the historical performances of leagues, teams and players. These are the most simple and easy to use, but overall HIGHLY INACCURATE, confused and incomplete. Practically, these formulas don’t include special considerations for their analysis. They usually have several decades of use, and traditionally have ALSO been used to select athletes. This group includes the ERA, AVG, HBI, among others. Waibi Sabermetric System uses those almost exclusively for official leading records, and as Central Database.
  2. Player Quality: it combines a number of specific data to measure skills and behaviour patterns of a player. Some of these formulas might belong to Group 1, or mix several ones  to find new data. Often it uses several special considerations for analysis and formulation. It is mostly used by sabermetrics statheads, although some like WHIP are accessible to players. Its function is to determine, by analyzing multiple data which ones are the most capable, the best players, not the ones with the best PERFORMANCE. Waibi Sabermetric System used to select the MVP, All-Star Team, etc. To this group belong also the WHIP, FIP, SLG, BABIP, and others.
  3. Player Eligibility: it is similar to the previous ones, but it focuses on specific features to choose a player instead of another, although it hasn´t better overall numbers (group 1) and / or quality (group 2). It  uses many specific considerations. Waibi Sabermetric System uses these as the basis of its Line Ups Generator or LUG (under development). This tool is a fast "consigliere" for the manager, and suggests (among others) which player to choose to beat a specific pitcher, also generating the best batting order, depending on the specific strategy the manager wants (speed on the bases, power, mixed, lefties, etc) and also proposing the best defense. LUG evaluates also the Player Fitness Momentum of each hitters, as well as the pitcher they will face.
So Waibi Sabermetric System is not a formula. It is a brand new concept that applies to all traditional statistical systems, (that will remain its backbone), which will identify, among others, the degree of OPPORTUNISM of a player. Briefly explaining this example, the Opportunism of a hitter will be higher while less is the quality of the pitchers against he has achieved each positive action that shapes his records. The quality of a player is, in general terms, inversely proportional to their Opportunism, and gives us an idea of which one could be the most effective player in harder tournaments, and which one is less likely to succeed, even if they had the same yield. The explanation of the operation will appear on the official website of Waibi Sabermetric System, currently under construction.
Some considerations: WAIBI vs TRADITIONAL SYSTEM:

WAIBI SABERMETRICS SYSTEM
SISTEMA TRADICIONAL
Direct Inverse Correlation Closed System: The result depends directly on the player and his opponent, in a specific moment and situation. It uses less formulas, with more complex algorithms, and even reduces to just ONE number, the analysis of the best performers (pitching).
Undirect Inverse Correlation Open System: The result is always affected in the same way, even if the conditions are extremely different. It uses many unconnected algorithms  to estimate a player, like ERA, WHIP, AVG, RBI, etc.
Progresive System, based (for the moment) on “Play by Play” performance. We are designing a “Pitch by Pitch” version.
Acumulative System, based on global records.
Integrated Interpretation System.
Segmented Interpretation System.
Circumstancial Registration.
Global Registration
Exponencial, Lineal and Mixed Algorithms
Generally Lineal Algorithms
Progresive Graphs, easy to read, to understand and to apply for the manager.
Acumulative Graph, some times hard to read, to understand and to apply for the manager.
Especifics Line Up Generator, to help and support  manager decisions.

Others: that we’ll be explained in Waibi Sabermetric System website.
